  1. What did you do this past week?

This past week I went to Costco and stocked a unholy amount of food following this past storm. I also started working on the class project with my group and we have a basic website and plan going for us.

2. What’s in your way?

This week I have a test for Algo, so that’s a pretty big obstacle that’s in my way. Hopefully, I can get past it no problem.

3. What will you do next week?

Next week, I’ll watch the last episode of Wandavision. I also plan on reading more for my Russian literature class and finishing The Unabomber Manifesto (I just finished the documentary about him).

4. If you read it, what did you think of the Single Responsibility Principle?

After reading it, I definitely agreed with many of the points that it was making. This is especially the case because my first language was an object-oriented language, so having one responsibility per class is something that I’m used to.

5. What was your experience of IDB1 and reduce? (this question will vary, week to week)

This week for IDB1 we planned out what we wanted to do for our idea and started the base React app. I found reduce to be relatively straightforward, and I found it was cool to be able to use wrapper functions.

6. How did you fare in the storm?

Our apartment lost wifi and water for a while, but we thankfully never lost power so none of our food in the fridge or freezer went bad. Other than that, we had our share of fun during the first couple days and tried to stay safe and conserve our energy until the storm ended.

7. What made you happy this week?

I had ordered some jewelry about a month ago and it finally came in. I got some hoop earrings and frog-shaped ring I’m really happy with, except I haven’t figured out how to put the earrings in myself yet. Also, my friend is starting his own pizza business and he’s calling it Mike’s Hard Pizza.

8. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

VS Code has an extension called Code Time that tracks your coding productivity and lets you know how long you spend coding each week and when you’re the most productive. It’s helped me figure out what times and days I’m most efficient.
